Welcome to a high-stakes world of deep-sea espionage, biotechnological horrors, and the battle for the future of the oceans. The story is discussed by my friends at Google Labs in a deep-dive review of my concept story:
My working life included 17 years in The Royal Navy as a warfare specialist. I saw combat action in the Falklands and Gulf of Oman and used some of the most advanced sensors and weapon systems in the fleet at that time. My career as a Chief Technology Officer allowed me to use and best understand AI technology. As a big fan of cyber warfare thrillers I looked at how the world might look in the 2030's as the Royal Navy's Type 31 frigate, also known as the Inspiration class, came into service.

The Type 31 frigate is a highly versatile and modular warship designed for adaptability, featuring an open-architecture combat system, flexible mission bays for rapid role changes, and the ability to deploy advanced drones, autonomous systems, and precision weapons, making it a cost-effective and scalable solution for modern naval operations.
Meet my Creation - Sentinel Rising
In the near future, the world’s oceans are no longer just battlegrounds for nations—they’re the front-lines of corporate warfare. In Neptune’s Whisper: War Beneath the Waves, we dive into a world where shadowy conglomerates like the Nereus Corporation deploy cutting-edge, semi-submersible vessels to control global resources, manipulate geopolitics, and push the boundaries of science. When the Royal Navy’s newest Type 32 frigate (based on Type 31 design) HMS Sentinel, is sent to the Falklands to investigate mysterious disruptions to the local fishing fleets, Captain Sarah Mitchell and her crew uncover a hidden war beneath the waves—one that threatens to reshape the balance of power both on Earth and beyond.
